I am a 4-th year B.Tech student at the Department of Biotechnology , National Institute of Technology, Durgapur , West Bengal, India. I am broadly interested in computational immune-oncology, computational genomics, biomedical imaging (Convex Optimization based problems) and personalized drug designing.

Presently I am being guided by Dr. Oindrilla Mukherjee and Dr. Debojyoti De for my final year projects. Since the 6-th semester of my undergraduate studies I have been a part of the research team of Dr. Lakshmi Kanta Dey , Department of Mathematics, NIT Durgapur . Prior to that I have worked under Dr. Sujoy Kumar Samanta as a summer research fellow at the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering , IIT Patna and as a winter research fellow, under the supervision of Dr. Kiranmoy Das at the Interdisciplinary Statistical Research Unit , Indian Statistical Institute,Kolkata. Apart from these I have worked with Dr. Gautam Bandhopadhyay of Department of Management Studies and Prof. Samarjit Kar , Department of Mathematics of my own institute. Having been involved in full-time research works since May, 2019 I am motivated to explore the domain of computational biology and bioinformatics to a higher extent.

ON-GOING PROJECTS:

  1. Machine Learning for molecular property and structure prediction

In this project we are using the ChemProt database for molecular property and structure prediction mainly with RDKit, PyBioMed and ChemoPy.  

  1. Statistical Analysis of group-structured biological data by joint lasso regression.

Supervisor: Dr. Gautam Bandyopadhyay

We are trying to find out the significance of joint lasso regression for statistical analysis of group-structured biological data by comparing it with fused lasso regression. We are using here cancer gene expression (DNA microarray) datasets.
